The FSO and its musicians have been an integral part of the community for 60 years, and we are passionate about supporting music education programs throughout Fairfax County schools.
On Sunday, June 18 at 5pm, the Fairfax Symphony presents acclaimed pianist Simone Dinnerstein with the Havana Lyceum Orchestra in their American debut to perform works from their new album, Mozart in Havana. Recorded with the orchestra in Cuba, it may be her most ambitious project to date and is a testament to music’s ability to cross all cultural and language barriers. The concert will be the first time an orchestra of this size has traveled to the U.S. from Cuba since the revolution.
The FSO is making tickets available at a discounted price ($20 adults/$10 students) to support the Riverside Elementary music program. This Title 1 school needs to raise $400 for additional technology equipment to help students explore, document, and share different ways to make music.
For every ticket purchased with this link, 50% of the proceeds will go to support the Riverside Elementary School music program.
The concert will feature Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 & 23, Copland's Appalachian Spring, and works by Carlos Fariñas.
Thank you for helping us make the music possible for Riverside students!
